The Sarah F. Hawes Memorial Feline Health Keynote Lecture is made possible through the generous bequest of Sarah Hawes to the Feline Health Center at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.
Above is a photo of Sarah with the beloved fabulous Red Tabby, Midas Mulligan, who was fortuitously placed with her niece, Lisa, after using up a few of his nine lives during his time as a stray on the campus of Texas State University.
In honor of Sarah and Midas Mulligan, Lisa created a gift at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine to provide stipends to senior citizens who had difficulty paying for care for their feline. Sarah’s bequest funded the gift for payouts and last year, a feline of a US military veteran was the first grateful recipient.
The spirit of both Sarah and Midas Mulligan live on in all of the felines whose lives are extended through the veterinary care received at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.
